Description

The NLS 22 Varmint Suppressor

Designed specifically for the backyard shooter and the .22LR varmint hunter, the NLS 22 Varmint suppressor was born from an idea that effective shouldn’t equal expensive.  Shooting .22 suppressed provides greater enjoyment while shooting, however, the steep cost for a small suppressor creates a barrier to entry for most people.  Therefore, Next Level Armament created an affordable, yet effective suppressor- The NLS 22 Varmint.

Each 22 Varmint features an aluminum threaded mount and blast chamber, finished with a hard coat anodize for durability.  Since the blast chamber endures the majority of the pressure, this allows a  light-weight design for the rest of the suppressor.   Therefore, we 3D printed each Modular Baffle Stack in carbon fiber for a precise fit to the contours of the mount.   *Although they are relatively durable, the modular baffle stacks cannot be installed directly onto a firearm without the mount and blast chamber.  Any attempt to modify them for use without the mount will render it unusable and can lead to immediate failure of the stack due to high pressure.

Fully assembled, the entire suppressor measures only 6 inches long, just over an inch in circumference, and weighs in at a very light 3.2 ounces.  It’s so light, you barely notice it on a rifle, and it cycles reliably when attached to your .22LR semi-auto pistol without the need for spring assists or special adapters.

Did we mention its quiet? It gets even better when you add subsonic rounds to the mix.  Protect everyone’s ears while having fun with friends and family.

Serviceable:

Need to change out a worn or damage baffle stack module?  The modular design makes servicing your suppressor quick and easy.  Remove the mounting screws to remove the baffle module from the mount.  Contact us to order a replacement module and send us the old module (we need the old one back in order to complete the exchange).  Once we have the old module, the replacement will ship back to you.    When you receive the new module, slide it onto the threaded mount, insert the mounting screws, and you are back in business!

NOTE: We will not replace any module without the original module returned to us, along with proof of ownership for the suppressor (currently a copy of your approved Form 4/tax stamp).  Cost of replacement module is $18.00 (includes shipping & handling).

I use this on a GSG Firefly 22LR because Sig no longer makes the mosquito 22LR. It’s so light I cannot tell it is there. Next plan is is build (or buy) a 22LR upper to put this on as well. For the price I find it to be a great value. This is my first suppressor and I plan to buy at least two more from Next Level.

This thing is really cool. Super light and I am surprised at the lack of heat compared to traditional models. The baffle portion seems to barely heat up after mag dumps allowing for a pretty quick removal.

I do wish Capital would offer fulfillment on this one.

Honest Review – No Sponsorship, Just My Experience

I’m not paid or affiliated with this brand in any way—these suppressors came out of my own hard‑earned money. I’d never heard of the company before, but an email from Aim Surplus caught my eye. Their flyer featured a Varmint suppressor priced at $149, which seemed worth investigating.

My original plan was to buy a Dead Air Mask 22, which runs around $460. Seeing the Varmint’s price made me pause—three Varmints cost less than a single Dead Air Mask. That price advantage, plus the convenience of not having to swap a single suppressor between firearms, convinced me to give it a try.

    What I got

I received three Varmint suppressors and installed them on my Kel‑Tec CP33, Kel‑Tec P17, and Rossi R22. I’m genuinely impressed—no regrets at all.

    Customer service

I reached out to the company to ask about two things:

Round count before the baffle stack needs replacement

Whether the suppressor is full‑auto rated

Mr. Lubbers replied promptly. He confirmed the suppressors have logged about 4,000 rounds so far and are still performing well. While they aren’t officially full‑auto rated, they handle rapid mag‑dumps just fine—as long as you don’t push them beyond reasonable limits.

    Extras

Purchasing from them also earns loyalty points that can be converted to cash. I used those points toward a another Varmint purchase, which felt like a nice bonus.

    Bottom line

The Varmint delivers solid performance at a price that makes sense. If the company expands the line with a similarly affordable 9 mm model, I’ll gladly spend again. They’ve earned my trust—and my money.

There really isn’t a better rimfire can for what this one will cost you. Performance is right up there with 500+ cans anyway. Love it!

Added this to my M&P 15. Cycles fantastic. Sounds even better. Super light suppressor with great suppression. Need to add a second one to my Ruger mark IV!

The 3D printed baffle stack portion is clearly warped straight out of the box. I’ve mounted the suppressor on three different firearms and I can see by simply looking down the bore that baffle strikes are inevitable. Lucky it’s just plastic so maybe I can ream it out with a drill bit and make it work. It’s a cool concept but this can is as crooked as can be. It’s a good thing the NFA tax is $0 or I’d be seriously pissed.

    • Next Level Armament (store manager)

Good morning. We’re sorry you have an issue with your suppressor. There is occasionally some slight “warping” that occurs during the annealing process during production. If it’s minor, it should be okay as we ream the centers out before assembling each suppressor. If we missed one with an obvious warp, we apologize for the issue and will gladly replace it at not cost to you. The baffle module isn’t the serialized part, its part of the assembly, so it’s easily replaced. We do not show you ordered directly through Next Level and have no record of you contacting us to resolve the situation. We will be reaching out to resolve your issue. Please check your spam folder if you do not receive an email from us.

It fits my Kel tec p17 and cycles without any problems. Being my first suppressor ever I really can’t compare it to other 22 suppressors out there.
